Deer Creek Resort & Conference Center Hosts Snowy BAB!

Tuesday, Feb. 6 recorded the biggest snowfall (so far!) of the season for Pickaway, Madison, Ross and Fayette Counties yet about 40 people braved the elements to attend Deer Creek Resort's Business After Business. The atmosphere was festive despite the treacherous travels and the food was simply outstanding for this Quad County BAB. We'd like to thank Deer Creek for hosting this event and for providing us with such a nice evening despite the snow!

2007 brings the Columbus region new faces in state government, which means new policies and a new direction. How will these changes affect your business?

The Pickaway County Chamber of Commerce wants you to get connected. On April 19, 2007 at the Athletic Club of Columbus, the Chamber is co-sponsoring Government Day, a marquee government affairs event that brings you face to face with statehouse experts. You will gather with other business leaders from the Columbus region and make your voice heard on issues like new taxes, health insurance reform, and workers compensation. With a new governor in office advocating his first budget for Ohio, Government Day allows you to be a part of the discussion.

The half-day conference kicks off 11:30 a.m. over lunch. Hear from Speaker of the Ohio House, Jon Husted, and other statehouse insiders. Next, it will be your turn to do the talking as you cross the street and meet with face-to-face with your legislators. They want to hear how the bills they consider impact your business and your bottom line. Afterward, gather in the statehouse for a reception to network and share your impressions of the day.

The cost for the conference is $50. To register go to www.columbus.org .

Mark Your Calendars

The Pickaway County Chamber of Commerce has scheduled our 2007 Annual Dinner to be held on Thursday, March 29 at the Deer Creek Resort and Conference Center. The event had to be moved to a larger venue due to the tremendous turnout that we have had for the past two years. We'd like to thank Crown Hill for being our gracious hosts for the past few years and commend them on a job well done. The facility was convenient and the staff was fantastic to work with but we have outgrown the space.

We have also moved the event from its standard Monday evening to Thursday to accommodate guests who are making a little longer trip than in the past.

We will be asking guests to purchase tickets this year in an attempt to streamline the process. Tickets will be available at the Chamber office for $35 per person.
